What's an Individual Voluntary Arrangement (IVA)?
In simple terms it’s a binding agreement between you and all your unsecured creditors. They will expect you to pay as much as you can reasonably afford.
You offer to pay a set monthly payment, usually over 5 years. The amount you pay each month is based on what you can reasonably afford.
As long as you keep to your agreement, interest on your debts is FROZEN and you will be DEBT FREE at the end of 5 years, or earlier if you’re a homeowner and remortgage your house during this IVA.
IVA’s were introduced by the government to help STOP people with financial problems going bankrupt.
